Potential Deposits on Milk Containers Concern to MLA
CALGARY/AM770CHQR - You could be paying higher deposits on beverage containers before the end of the year.
The province is fast-tracking a public consultation process and the MLA heading the recycling review wants answers before the end of the month.
Denis Ducharme says a deposit on milk containers may be considered.
"We're looking for feedback from Albertans so that we can keep our environment clean.
Ducharme admits a deposit on milk containers is a touchy subject.
"We have concerns in regards to the milk container situation. We don't want to put deposits in place if it means not having any milk at the table for the children."
The government will be asking for input next week. '
