Bottle bill redundant, ploy to raise revenue for state
Bottle bill creates chaos for everyone
Redemption centers and/or citizens return bottles, cans, etc., to retailers, and the state makes money. Redemption centers create another entity; and returning bottles to the store creates chaos for the consumer and retailer alike. Every member of the Legislature should lock themselves in a room and not come out until they create meaningful ways to reduce government and spending ... period.

Don't we already recycle bottles?
New Jersey claims a bottle-deposit program would be good for the environment, and good for the state purse. (New York has collected as much as $80 million per year in uncollected deposits). Aren't our bottles and cans already recycled? Won't igniting a flow of traffic to recycling centers and retailers just to return bottles and cans put more pollution in the air? Let's not forget about all the expensive gasoline wasted by making those trips. Why doesn't Gov. Jon S. Corzine just say, "Give me $80 million dollars" instead of making us work for him, too?
