Deposit bottle law needed

I'm new to Hernando, and this will soon sound like a lecture, but Mississippi and Tennessee severely need a deposit bottle law.

I was in Oregon 30 years, where such a law has existed since 1970. It works. Ten other states also have a bottle bill.

The bottlers, distributors and retailers don't like it. Well, too bad. Who makes the laws? Not them. Oregon's law came into force when we had a Republican governor.

Bottle laws reduce litter, save resources and landfill space, and develop a recycle mind-set. It's an adjustment at first, but far from impossible.
